Lao She’s work of Beneath the Red Banner is like a delicate historical scroll, vividly depicting the rich and diverse daily lives of the Manchu people. This work is not only a brilliant artistic summary of the social phenomena at that time, but also contains profound and profound historical and cultural connotations. In the textual world of Beneath the Red Banner, there are a large number of cultural loaded words with distinct ethnic characteristics and cultural imprints. These words are like unique keys that open the door to Manchu culture, but at the same time, their uniqueness and cultural barriers greatly influence the success or failure of translation work. This article selects the English translation of Beneath the Red Banner as a research example for in-depth exploration.
