An analytical study of English translation errors in the sign language of tourist attractions
旅游景点标识语的英译失误分析研究

摘要
随着我国国际地位的不断提升和国际影响力的不断增强,中国文化和中国故事在世界各国广泛传播,越来越多的国际友人来到中国旅游。因此,旅游景点标识语的英译在国际游客的出行体验中发挥很大影响,其失误也会对我国国际形象和游客出行造成消极影响。本研究通过对旅游景点标识语的失误案例进行分析,总结出旅游景点标识语英译失误的常见失误点,即拼写错误;版本不一;机器化翻译严重;中式英语翻译等。同时,为了提高国际游客的体验感,该研究进一步分析总结相关资料并提出相应的解决方案,如政府部门对旅游景点标语的英译给予重视并加大管理力度;成立旅游景点标识语英译专家团队;提高译者的综合素质,吸纳优秀人才等方式。希望该研究可以减少我国旅游景点标识语英译的失误率,提高国际友人对中国的影响,更好的面向世界讲好中国故事,宣传中国文化。

Abstract
With the continuous improvement of China's international status and international influence, Chinese culture and Chinese stories are widely spread in the world, and more and more international friends come to China for traveling. Therefore, the English translation of tourist attraction sign language plays a great influence on the traveling experience of international tourists, and its mistakes can also have a negative impact on China's international image and tourist' travel. This study analyzes the cases of errors in the sign language of tourist attractions and summarizes the common points of errors in the English translation of sign language of tourist attractions, i.e., spelling mistakes; inconsistent versions; serious machine translation; and Chinese-English translation. At the same time, to improve the experience of international tourists, the study further analyzes and summarizes the relevant information and puts forward the corresponding solutions, such as the government departments pay attention to the English translation of the slogans of the tourist attractions and increase the management; set up a team of experts in the English translation of the sign language of the tourist attractions; improve the comprehensive quality of the translators and absorb the excellent talents and other ways. It is hoped that this study can reduce the error rate of English translation of sign language in tourist attractions in China, improve the influence of international friends on China, and better tell the Chinese story and publicize Chinese culture to the world.
