A study on strategies to cultivate critical thinking in college English class
在大学英语课堂培养批判性思维的策略研究

摘要
批判性思维是现代教育的重要目标之一,对于学生的学术发展和未来职业能力具有重要意义。随着全球化的深入发展,具备批判性思维能力的英语人才愈发受到社会的青睐。本文首先阐述了批判性思维的内涵以及在大学英语课堂中培养批判性思维的重要性,然后分析了当前大学英语课堂中批判性思维培养的现状和问题。接着,本文提出了一系列培养策略,包括转变教学观念、改进教学方法、优化教学内容、完善评估方式等。这些策略能够有效提升学生的批判性思维能力,促进大学英语教学质量的提高,同时也有助于学生综合素质的发展。

Abstract
Critical thinking is one of the important objectives of modern education and holds great significance for students' academic development and future professional capabilities. With the in-depth development of globalization, English talents with critical thinking abilities are increasingly favored by society. This paper first expounds on the connotation of critical thinking and its importance in college English class, and then analyzes the current situation and existing problems of critical thinking cultivation in college English class. Subsequently, this paper proposes a series of cultivation strategies, including transforming teaching concepts, improving teaching methods, optimizing teaching contents, and perfecting assessment methods. These strategies can effectively enhance students' critical thinking abilities, improve the quality of college English teaching, and also contribute to the development of students' comprehensive qualities.
