摘要
随着中国经济的快速发展，其拥有地铁的城市数量显著增加。地铁不仅仅是公共交通的重要组成部分，也是展示城市文化和形象的重要窗口。鉴于此，地铁站名翻译的准确性及文化适应性对于提升城市国际宣传效果具有重大意义。本研究将地铁站名分为四类，通过对比北京、上海、郑州等多个中国主要城市近年来站名英译的变化，深入分析这些变化背后的原因。发现站名翻译的变化不仅反映了语言政策的更新，也会受到成本、民意和主流翻译取向的影响。本研究为理解城市化进程中的文化变迁提供了新的视角，并为城市公共标识系统的国际化建设提供了参考。

Abstract
With the rapid economic development of China, the number of cities with subway systems has increased significantly. The subway is not only an important part of public transportation but also a crucial window for displaying urban culture and image. In view of this, the accuracy and cultural adaptability of subway station name translations are of great significance for enhancing the effectiveness of international city promotion. This study categorizes subway station names into four types and conducts an in-depth analysis of the reasons behind the changes in the English translations of these names by comparing recent translations in major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, and others. The study finds that changes in station name translations not only reflect updates in language policies but are also influenced by factors such as cost, public opinion, and mainstream translation trends. This research provides a new perspective for understanding cultural changes in the process of urbanization and offers valuable insights for the internationalization of urban public signage systems.
