Research on the improvement path of grammar courses in college English teaching under the background of new liberal arts
新文科背景下大学英语教学语法课程改进路径探究

摘要

新文科建设对外语人才有了更新更高的要求,外语人才要能够走出去,讲好中国故事,发出中国声音。而作为英语学习基础的语法教学仍然存在诸如缺乏统一课程标准,语法课程缺失,教师语法教学意识淡薄,语法教材和语料更新缓慢,教学方式和评估体系落后的问题。本文提出,基于英语学习规律和新文科外语人才培养的现实需求,英语专业和非英语专业都应当通过单独设立语法课程,更新语法教学体系框架,创新语法教学方式和评估体系,加强语法课程教学,助力新文科建设和外语人才培养。

Abstract

The construction of new liberal arts has put forward newer and higher requirements for foreign language talents. Foreign language talents should be able to go global, tell Chinese stories well and make Chinese voices heard. However, there are still some problems in grammar teaching, which serves as the foundation of English learning, such as the lack of unified curriculum standards, the absence of grammar courses, the weak awareness of grammar teaching among teachers, the slow update of grammar textbooks and language materials, and the backwardness of teaching methods and assessment systems. This paper proposes that, based on the laws of English learning and the actual needs of cultivating foreign language talents in the new liberal arts, both English majors and non-English majors should set up separate grammar courses, update the framework of grammar teaching systems, innovate grammar teaching methods and assessment systems, and strengthen grammar course teaching to support the construction of new liberal arts and the cultivation of foreign language talents.
