A study on the shackles of the development of Hong Kong film companies today
当今香港电影公司发展的桎梏研究

摘要

香港电影从西洋戏园时代，到承接上海电影业转移，到本土电影的兴起，再到如今香港电影已成电影史当中重要的符号，不论辉煌与没落，承载电影制作的各大电影公司无疑是历史的缔造者也是见证者。二十世纪末伊始，随着好莱坞与大陆地区的电影在亚太地区的影响力逐步扩大，香港本土电影业受到了严重的冲击，叫好叫座并存的香港本土电影数量急剧下降，从媒体界到学术界均有认为香港电影业寒冬已至，见此，香港电影公司便开始纷纷谋求突破或转型以对抗现有危机。文章通过定性分析方法，采用社会经济学分析作为手段剖析香港电影公司当前发展的桎梏，依据当前香港地缘政治的背景情况，结合香港电影公司当前具备的优劣势，尝试提出新破局的思路方向。

Abstract

From the era of Western theaters, to taking over the transfer of the Shanghai film industry, to the rise of local films, and up to now, Hong Kong films have become an important symbol in the history of cinema. Whether glorious or declining, the major film companies that carry out film production are undoubtedly both the creators and witnesses of history. At the beginning of the late 20th century, as the influence of Hollywood and mainland films in the Asia-Pacific region gradually expanded, the local film industry in Hong Kong was severely impacted. The number of local Hong Kong films that were both critically acclaimed and commercially successful dropped sharply. Both the media and the academic circles believed that the cold winter for the Hong Kong film industry had arrived. In view of this, Hong Kong film companies then began to seek breakthroughs or transformations one after another to counter the existing crisis. This article, through qualitative analysis methods and by using socio-economic analysis as a means, dissects the current development constraints of Hong Kong film companies. Based on the current geopolitical background of Hong Kong and in combination with the advantages and disadvantages that Hong Kong film companies currently possess, it attempts to propose new ideas and directions for breaking the deadlock.
