A study on state translation program of central plains culture translation: An analysis of the bilingual series CHINESE CIVILIZATION·Stories from Henan
中原文化外译的国家翻译实践研究——以《中华源·河南故事》双语丛书为例

摘要

本文以国家翻译实践为研究视角，将《中华源・河南故事》汉英对照本作为分析对象，借助文本对比方法，探究其呈现的国家翻译实践特征、运用的英译策略以及地方文化国家翻译实践的启示及借鉴意义。作为中原文化外译的地方实践范例，其选题与国家翻译实践的深度呼应，与国家翻译格局高度契合，凸显出地方翻译实践对国家翻译格局的支撑效能。在英译策略方面，丛书对文化负载词采用“双层解码”，兼顾文化独特性与意义转化效率；对政治话语的翻译以异化为主，平衡话语本色与跨文化理解，并依托数字技术构建多模态翻译体系提升传播效果。简而言之，中华文化传播需国家全局框架与地方深耕结合，在翻译人才培养、技术应用场景拓展、国际传播生态构建等方面持续发力，以期进一步提升中国传统文化的国际传播力与国际话语权。

Abstract

From the perspective of national translation practice, this paper takes the bilingual series CHINESE CIVILIZATION·Stories from Henan as the research object, and adopts the analytical method of textual comparison to explore the characteristics of national translation practice embodied therein, the English translation strategies employed, and their enlightenment significance for the national translation practice of Central Plains culture. As a local practice example of the external translation of Central Plains culture, its topic selection deeply echoes national translation practice and highly aligns with the national translation landscape, highlighting the supporting role of local translation practice in the national translation landscape. In terms of English translation strategies, the series adopts "dual-layer decoding" for culture-loaded words, balancing cultural uniqueness and the efficiency of meaning transformation; it primarily employs foreignization for the translation of political discourse, balancing the original essence of the discourse and cross-cultural understanding; and it relies on digital technologies to build a multi modal translation system to enhance international communication effectiveness. In short, the dissemination of Chinese culture requires the integration of a national overall framework and local in-depth efforts. Continuous efforts should be made in such areas as the cultivation of translation talents, the expansion of technology application scenarios, and the construction of an international communication ecosystem, with a view to further enhancing the international communication power of traditional Chinese culture.
