Modern Interpretation and Cultural Reflection on Classical Novels: Through the Prism of Romance of the Three Kingdoms
古典小说的现代解读与文化反思——以《三国演义》为例

本文基于“研究古典文学、反思传统文化、建设现代文明”的治学宗旨，通过梳理学术使命、文本解读与文化逻辑的三重维度，系统分析了古典小说研究与现代文明建设之间的内在联系。文章认为，古典小说的现代意义主要体现在：首先，在学术职责上，强调研究者应具备介入现实的终极关怀，打破对经典的盲目仰视；其次，在文本重塑上，通过揭示《三国演义》等作品的“群体创作”属性，解构其被神圣化的通俗价值，反思国民意识在长期传播中形成的滞后性；最后，在文化逻辑上，深度剖析了传统语境下“道德压迫智慧”的畸形机制，并以诸葛亮式的“服从标本”为例，探讨了专制文化对民族智慧发展的长期钳制。透过这一学术反思，可发现古典小说评价体系从“娱乐/考据”向“思想启蒙”的范式转换，为当下通过文学研究推动现代文明进步提供了一定的理论参考与经验借鉴。

Abstract

Adhering to the academic mission of "studying the classical literature, reflecting on traditional culture, and constructing modern civilization," this article systematically analyzes the intrinsic connection between the study of classical fiction and the development of modern civilization through a three-dimensional framework: academic mandate, textual deconstruction, and cultural logic. The article posits that the contemporary significance of classical fiction is manifested in three primary aspects. First, regarding academic responsibility, it emphasizes that researchers must possess an ultimate concern for contemporary reality and dismantle the uncritical veneration of classical canons. Second, through textual reshaping, it unveils the "collective authorship" attribute of masterpieces such as The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, thereby deconstructing their sacralized popular value and critiquing the lag in national consciousness formed during their protracted dissemination. Finally, in terms of cultural logic, the article provides a profound analysis of the aberrant mechanism of "morality suppressing wisdom" within traditional contexts. Using Zhuge Liang as a "specimen of obedience," it explores the long-term constraints imposed by autocratic culture on the growth of national intellect. Through this academic reflection, a paradigmatic shift in the evaluative system of classical fiction—from "entertainment and textual criticism" toward "intellectual enlightenment"—is identified, offering theoretical references and empirical insights for advancing modern civilization through literary scholarship.
