On “performative acts”: A critical review of Austin’s and Benveniste’s speech act theories
试论“话语施行行为”——兼评奥斯汀与本维尼斯特的言语行为理论

摘要
本文首先扼要总结了约翰·奥斯汀与埃米尔·本维尼斯特关于记述话语与施行话语之区分标准的相关见解。在此基础上，文章对两位学者的观点提出批评并进一步探讨施行话语与非施行话语可能的区分标准。文章认为，本氏所言的“权威性”、“唯一性”、“自我参照性”等标准不足以对二者做出有效的区分。一个话语是否属于施行话语，当视其是否完成了“施行行为”。

Abstract
This article aims to study the distinction proposed by J.L.Austin and developed by Emile Benveniste between constative utterance and performative utterance. According to Benveniste, the performative utterance must be authoritative, unique and sui-referential. But after analysis, we found that these qualities are common to both two categories of utterance. The real criteria which distinguishes the performative utterance from the constative utterance is that only the former could accomplish a special act: the “performative act”.
