The internal artistic transformation of Hongren’s “Non-Abiding Mind” from the perspective of the “Monk-Painter” identity
从“画僧”身份看弘仁“无住生心”的艺术内变

摘要

弘仁作为中国文人艺术转型的关键性人物，其核心身份是一名“画僧”。其从“儒生”到“画僧”的身份转换，正是“家国我执”到“无我之境”的升华，最终完成了“无住生心”的艺术内变。本文以“画僧”身份为视角，梳理其人生轨迹与艺术演变，探讨禅宗思想对其创作的根本影响，阐释其艺术独特意境的内在成因。

Abstract

As a pivotal figure in the transformation of Chinese literati art, Hongren’s core identity was that of a “monk-painter.” His transition from a “Confucian scholar” to a “monk-painter” represents a sublimation from the “ego-attachment to family and nation” to the “realm of selflessness,” ultimately achieving an internal artistic transformation of “non-abiding mind.” From the perspective of the “monk-painter” identity, this paper traces his life trajectory and artistic evolution, explores the fundamental influence of Chan (Zen) thought on his creation, and elucidates the intrinsic causes of the unique artistic conception in his works.
