Abstract

In his book A Life with Palms Joined, Master Xingyun tells the story of his life as a Buddhist monk and teacher, sharing his personal journey and deep thoughts about faith. The book focuses on three main themes: growing and improving oneself, keeping and living one's beliefs, and understanding and rising above life and death. Using twenty different topics, he connects important events from his life with Buddhist ideas, creating a clear and meaningful structure. Rather than presenting himself as a perfect religious figure, Master Xingyun writes in a simple and honest way. This makes it easier for readers to connect with his experiences and thoughts, and helps them better understand his life and ideas.
